GAUNT FILMS creates original films (features, documentaries and shorts).  Whether real or fictional, we focus on telling compelling stories with captivating characters that aim to provoke a deeper understanding of the human experience.

Our feature documentary A PLACE CALLED HOME: AN ADOPTION STORY won a “Crystal Heart Award” at The Heartland Film Festival, “Audience Award for Best Feature” at the Indianapolis International Film Festival and premiered on PBS.  We recently produced the short suspense thriller RED MAZE about a struggling boxer that makes an ill-fated decision in an attempt to provide for his family. RED MAZE won a ‘Silver Remi Award’ in the suspense/thriller category at WorldFest Houston and premiered on Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network as part of ‘The People’s Network: Suspense Edition’.  Our sci-fi short DAYS END about an impending apocalyptic event that alters a young man’s outlook on life screened at over 30 film festivals around the world.  We also co-produced the PBS documentary ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE about a group of Chicago artists that convert an old metal stamping factory into artist live/work lofts.
